Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – Grand Ayatollah Hussein Noori Hamedani met with the members of the Shaikh Saduq Conference organizing commitee on Wednesday, February 22 in Qom.
During the meeting, the Shia source of emulation, highlighted the importance of studying the biography of prominent Islamic scholars saying, “Muslim scholars have gone through so many hardships in their lives to promote Islam, therefore we must appreciate their efforts and study about their services to Islam.”
Ayatollah Noori further referred to Shaikh Saduq’s life as a deep ocean of knowledge for the Muslim community and added," We must not overlook the great achievements of former Islamic scholars since studying their biographies can reinforce our Islamic cultural values in current societies."
"Shaikh Saduq* was a narrator of hadiths and his narrations are all documented and authentic; Shaykh Mufid also a student of and studied under Shaykh Saduq."
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Noori reiterated,"One of Shaykh Saduq’s specialties had been his ability to take part in debates with his opponents and enemies in which he would defend Shi’ism as well as the Islamic doctrine," Hawzah News quoted him as saying.
"Another distinguished characteristic of Shaikh Saduq had been his travels for promoting Islamic teachings; such a movement must serve as a model for Muslim clerics in present time as they travel to promote their religion and to confront the deviations."
